ASUS ThunderboltEX 3
ASUS ThunderboltEX 3
Completely correct statement. Paid for nothing. And far too little information about connection options or restrictions.
I would sell you mine, I no longer need it: martin.spengler@googlemail.com
If there is the TB header on the board then it should work, look in the manual or at the board for the old fashioned 4 pin connector
I think if the board has a Thunderbolt header it should work - should, but doesn't have to, because according to some reports this card doesn't work even in boards that are on the compatibility list. The lists are of course not updated, Chinese / Taiwanese manufacturers never do that; so everything on the websites remains as it was originally done - and thus boards that come later are basically not listed, whether compatible or not. No one can say if it will work in the end, unless someone owns this board and this card. If I were you, I would just buy this part and try to install it. If it doesn't work, you can always sell it at a small loss.
The card only works in a mainboard that has a "Thunderbolt header", so in no case with Asus ROG X Hero. Even with a "Thunderbolt header" it is not always the case, I have read, but I myself have no experience with this - I have bought the card but have not yet installed it, I still have to replace the mainboard first.
Addendum: The new mainboards already have the usb 3.2 and usb-c interfaces onboard. You don't need the card at all.
With the connection of this card you lose 4-8 PCI lanes, the graphics card could suffer from this, as it generally works with 16 lanes on PCI No 1, it would most likely drop to 8 lanes. >> If the board should support this card and you would put it into operation. If this board has a Thunerbolt header connector, which is necessary for the Thunderbolt licence, it could work.
Hello I have exactly the same motherboard. Unfortunately, the board doesn't work for me under Windows either. It was also not usable for my Hackintosh, so I sold the thing on. It should actually run with this board, but this is now doubtful.
Unfortunately, we have no information on this, so the status is set to "unknown". As soon as we have new information, we will add it to the product.
I doubt it, since your mainboard most likely does not have a Thunderbolt header. And if it does, then in principle you could also directly install a suitable graphics card.

Yes it works :-).
Ja! Dein Board braucht den TB Header Anschluss: Siehe: https://www.asus.com/ch-de/Motherboard-Accessory/ThunderboltEX-3/specifications/
No. You can find a list of compatible hardware here: https://www.asus.com/ch-de/Motherboard-Accessory/ThunderboltEX-3/specifications/
Yes, that's exactly what I mean!
Hello KapoGR70002 According to the supplier, the card can be delivered in 2-4 working days. Therefore, there should be no problems. Regards Coolzerra
First of all, you must have an internal Thunderbolt connection. And a graphics card or mainboard with a diplay port. From the official side, only the X99 and Z170 mainboards support this expansion card. Despite a brief search, I don't know what works unofficially.
