The print quality is always great, even if I don't use the printer for 2-3 weeks. However, the printer is always connected to the mains and the print head is cleaned periodically during printing.
The GI-590 BK cartridges are not compatible with the Canon Maxify GX7050. The Canon GI-56 ink bottles or cartridges are used for this model. The GI-590 ink bottles are compatible with older Canon Pixma G models, but not with the Maxify GX7050.
The printer supports envelopes in DL and COM10 format, but not directly C5. However, you can use customised formats with a width of 89 to 216 mm and a length of 127 to 1,200 mm. Since a C5 envelope measures 162 x 229 mm, it might be possible to set it up as a customised format as long as it stays within these limits.
The Canon MAXIFY GX7050 is a printer with ink tank technology designed for office use. It offers a wide range of functions such as printing, copying, scanning and faxing via Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
Photo printing capability:
The printer supports printing on various paper types including Semi-Gloss, Glossy and Matte Photo Paper as well as Restickable Photo Paper and Magnetic Photo Paper. Photos can be placed in the rear tray, which can hold up to 100 sheets. The printer is capable of printing good quality photos, with colours appearing sharp and clear.
Photo tray or photo format:
There is no specific mention of a "photo tray" in the traditional sense, but the printer can print photos in a variety of formats, including postcard size. Printing photos in special photo formats is possible as long as the paper is placed in the rear tray.
To summarise, the Canon MAXIFY GX7050 offers the possibility to print photos in various formats, but without a special "photo tray" in the conventional sense.
The Canon MAXIFY GX7050 is capable of printing on C5 envelopes. The specifications list envelopes, including the C5 size, among the supported paper types.
If you do not print for a long time, the ink may dry out and you will have to run the cleaning programme (possibly even twice).
With regular weekly printing, the ink should not dry out. However, I myself have the most problems with the red colour
as this seems to be used the least. With the other colours and black, I have had no problems with regular printing (a few pages 1 to 2 times a week).
a few pages once or twice a week). Previously I had an Epson printer with an ink tank, which was much worse with the colours drying out.
I also recommend contacting Canon support. It is possible that your device is also affected by the recall. I also have problems with my device and will be sending it in for repair next week. You can find more information about the recall here:

You can print C5 envelopes via the rear sheet feeder. BUT: The problem of ink stains does indeed exist. On my GX7050, the smudge mark is always in a section of the envelope edge that is pushed out at the end of printing. All possible cleaning modes did not provide a solution, unfortunately! I also have a laser printer, which doesn't have this problem when printing envelopes.
According to https://www.druckerchannel.de/artikel.php?ID=4538&t=rueckruf_canon_maxify_gx7050_und_gx6050, only units with serial numbers "KNDY00001" to "KNDY01288" (EU) are affected. New units should no longer be affected by this error.
Hi Nicolas! The printer has four large openings on the front through which the cartridge levels for C, M, Y and BK are clearly visible at all times. It even has measuring lines for 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100%. You should be able to see how slowly or quickly the cartridge level is decreasing and order refills in time.
