FRITZ! !Box 5530 Fiber XGS-PON
FRITZ! !Box 5530 Fiber XGS-PON
Unfortunately not. This accessory should come exclusively with provider models.
According to reports from other customers, the box does not run at 10 Gigabit on the Swisscom network.
Tried it? Yep, it's been working for me for years without any problems. Net data throughput is between 890 and 940 MBit.
Unfortunately, I don't know the Internetbox 2 from Swisscom. But the Fritz!Box 5530 Fibre is perfectly adequate for my purposes. I don't need a range extender in the house, but the box is also relatively centrally located. Before that I had an AVM FRITZ!Box 7530 AX, which felt a bit better, but it didn't have a fibre optic connection.
Which fibre optic cable do I need to operate this box with the Swisscom Fibre connection? Thank you.

Hello, if you consult the Digitec product sheet, you'll see that this question has already been asked by a user. The answer is that this box works perfectly with Sunrise. The person who replied even explained in detail the settings to be made.
As far as I know, fibre optic modems must be registered by the supplier. If this is not the case, according to your supplier, all the better. According to the manufacturer, a GPON module should be included as well as a 4m fibre optic cable (LC/APC > LC/APC). If this is not the case, you can contact our customer service directly. There are no details for an exact recommendation. I would therefore also recommend that you contact our customer service team directly. I would provide the information from the supplier directly for a precise check. Manufacturer's page AVM Fritzbox 5530 Fibre Contact us
I had that too. The settings under Internet connection do not fit and you probably get a 100.82.* IP address. For me (init7 Hybrid7 via Swisscom BBCS) it worked with "other Internet provider", VLAN=10; then I got a 100.95.* IP address and https://swisscom.com/register automatically forwarded to the correct splash page at https://www.swisscom.ch/splashpage/guest/app/Accessid.
I had exactly the same problem, you have to select a "different Internet provider" and set DHCP to ID 10. Then the so-called "splash page" appears and you can activate the line. After the activation, probably configure PPPoE with login data & DHCP ID 11.
Works perfectly for me with Fiber7.
https://avm.de/produkte/fritzbox/fritzbox-5530-fiber/technische-daten/ But you are comparing products from different price ranges, which is reflected in the different features. If you want more features than the 5530, there is the 5590. https://avm.de/produkte/fritzbox/fritzbox-5590-fiber/technische-daten/
No, that's not possible - Fiber7-X is not XGS-PON. You can find the exact SFP specifications here: https://www.init7.net/de/support/routerinfos/
We would need more details in order to be able to give you the best information :)
The AVM FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber XGS-PON is a router specifically designed for use with fibre optic internet connections. The AVM FRITZ!Box 5530, on the other hand, is a more universal router that can be used with a variety of internet connections, including fibre, DSL and cable. In summary, the main difference between these two routers is the type of internet connection they are designed for and the data transfer capabilities they offer. The AVM FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber XGS-PON is optimised for use with fibre connections and offers high-speed data transfer, while the AVM FRITZ!Box 5530 is more flexible and can be used with a wider range of internet connections. The XGS-PON module would be included.
The AON version worked perfectly with my Swisscom connection. Unfortunately, the Swisscom subsidiary Wingo was not prepared to set up an AON connection for me. I didn't want to spend money again on a PON version of the FB 5530, so now I'm with another provider.
And how did you enter the nsn number?
This one has an AON terminal (unfortunately not described anywhere, but it used to be the only one sold in retail in Switzerland), the one from the link apparently GPON. The general chatter from the description that the 5530 can do all three technologies (yes, it's true) is unfortunately of little help, because you need the right terminal ("modem"), because all three are by no means supplied. The next challenge is to find out which technology your own provider uses, which is usually not mentioned anywhere. I was lucky that 1. AON fitted and 2. my provider has a competent and friendly second level support who gave me the information in advance.
Unfortunately it doesn't work because they don't give out the Sunrise data to connect. I got the 5490 from Sunrise and it worked.
I have never configured the 5530 as a repeater or as an IP client. However, I have configured other current and older AVM models. It has always worked without any problems. It won't be any different with the 5530.
