This can happen during a charging process (independent of the device) and does not necessarily indicate a defect. However, as soon as the batteries or the charger become really hot, please contact our customer service, if you have ordered it through us.
Search for "jump start nimh battery" if you are 100% sure it is a NiMH battery. You can revive pretty much any dead NiMH battery. You can then charge the batteries for 12+ hours without any problems. They give off the excess energy as heat (this does not apply to other types of batteries).
You can only charge two or four batteries, but not one or three.
Batteries are not included.

No batteries are needed to charge devices via USB. The charger is connected to the mains socket.
I can charge all the brands we have at home in AA and AAA of different capacities, but I don't have a Varta 2600

Charger + 4 AA batteries
It will charge just as normally. The capacity of a battery mAh just indicates how long a battery lasts. It has no influence on the actual charging process. The 2150mAh are the 4 AA batteries that come with the charger included. AA and AAA batteries have to be charged always in pair in this charger, so either 2 or 4, you can even charge 2 AA and 2 AAA mixed.

The product includes 4 AAA batteries.
Several hours, I let it run overnight....
For me, the indicator lights up blue when charging. After some time, when the charging is finished, the indicator stops glowing. I suspect this is the switch-off, but no guarantee.
