Question about Apple TV 4k 64gb

I'm worried that my internet at home is too slow and that the 64GB is not enough. I now have the last generation with 128GB, so I don't have any jerking and twitching. What do you think?

Hm, as far as I know there is no 128GB Apple TV box.

Once, in version 1, there was a choice between 40GB and 160GB hard disk. From version 2 onwards, however, the internal memory was already converted to flash. In the current version 4 or 4K, you can choose between 32 or 64GB internal flash memory (~1000 times faster than HD). This is actually enough to store a few applications (apps).

It is important to know that the internal memory has nothing to do with performance or judder. What is primarily important is that a good internet connection with sufficient bandwidth is available. If all the forums are to be believed, you should have no problems with 16Gbit/s or more. Even an entry-level subscription at green.ch or upc.ch already offers more than 40Gbit/s.

In addition, the main processor and, of course, the graphics processor are responsible for the performance of the box, i.e. the processing of the data and its speed, and the cache memory is responsible for the data buffering. Please note that the cache memory has nothing to do with the 32/64GB internal memory. Cache buffers the data until it is retrieved by the processor. If the data is not in the cache and has to be reloaded, jerking may occur.

Here too, the new Apple TVs have a much larger and also faster cache than the old ones. Version 1 is equipped with 256 MB, version 2 with 256MB, version 3 with 512 MB, version 4 with 2 GB and version 4K with 3 GB.

Of course, the content and quality of the programmes have also changed considerably and the demands on the boxes are correspondingly higher.

I operate my Apple 4K box on a 55Gbit/s connection and have connected the box with cable, i.e. via LAN. I tried it via WLAN and did not experience any problems, but please note that a WLAN connection can also become a bottleneck depending on the distance and signal quality to the router/hot spot.
