Polymer-Coated Inner Cables

The secret lies in a polymer coating that, under a microscope, resembles hoses wrapped around the cable. This results in a reduced surface area that rubs against the inner housing lining. Additionally, the lubricant lasts longer. The main advantages are significantly less effort required for shifting and the sensation of faster gear changes.
