In the Alps, farmers drive the cows to the alpine meadows in the summer. There, lush grass grows. The animals wear large bells that can be heard from afar. In late summer, it's time for the return from the alpine pastures, and the cows come back to the valley. Cows are herd animals. They eat more than 50 kg of grass a day and can drink up to 180 liters of water. Therefore, they can also produce up to 30 liters of milk a day, which means they are milked up to twice a day.
