Unfortunately, you can't. The ASUS is powered via the Type C USB port - i.e. it won't work with an HDMI-USB-C cable (as power does not flow via HDMI). In addition, only the DisplayPort protocol is supported, not HDMI.
A cable with a USB type C plug is included in the scope of delivery.
When plugged into the Lenovo X1 Yoga via the separate USB type C connection or the HP via the "charging socket" (type C), everything worked straight away.
Yes, I personally have two connected to an HP zbook 15 running ubuntu, and I am more than happy with them.
I'm not sure if it's a good idea to have a usb-c port, but as mentioned, it's not enough to have a usb-c port. It's not enough to have a usb-c port, you need to have a computer (or phone, I remember it working on a samsung galaxy, but I don't remember which generation) that supports displayport over usb-c, otherwise it won't work at all.
It's a good idea to use it on a samsung galaxy, but I can't remember which generation:
* displayport over usb-c = usb-c + displayport over usb-c
* I'm not sure which generation supports displayport over usb-c, otherwise it won't work at all.
Finally, I don't recommend the MB169B+ alternative, which works in principle under Linux but requires the installation of a proprietary driver, with just lousy results.
Hi
I have just tried this and attached my Samsung S10. Unfortunately it does not work. The ASUS logo is visible on the screen, but it disappears again after a second, probably because the power is too low. Unfortunately, I can't tell you what this looks like on a tablet.
No, that is not possible without further ado. The Dex Station only has one USB-C type output, which is needed to power the device. Theoretically, however, it could be possible, but I'm only guessing here that you can connect the screen via USB hub and USB-C-to-HDMI adapter. However, it is quite far-fetched that this would work.
Dex Station likes HDMI as a connector for screens.
Unfortunately, I do not know of any option to mount this monitor on the wall using a bracket.
If you want to tinker, the first thing that comes to mind would be Velcro. Or Tesa Power Strips. The monitor is only 800g heavy/light.
Velcro, 5m (500cm)
and
Velcro hook tape, 5m (500cm)
I had a similar problem with the connection to a surfacebook. The problem is with the USB-C connection. Since there is currently no uniform standard for USB-C, many adapters do not work properly. I exchanged the monitor for the ASUS MB169B, which has almost the same name. https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/asus-mb168b-1560-1366x768-monitor-2478889#popup This has a USB3 connection and works perfectly...
