Yes, you can, but this box can't do HDR or Dolby Atmos. It can't even do Dolby True HD, only Dolby Digital Plus. Real HDR, HDR10+ and DolbyVision are both possible with the affordable Google Chromecast with Google TV 4K solution. And it can also do Dolby Atmos sound. Usually problems are caused by HDMI CEC/handshake issues or firmware errors of the Android TV, which causes the Nokia Streaming Box to forget the TV control and fall back to "IPTV Box". A complete reset of the CEC connection, including a powerless restart of the TV and box, should solve the problem.

In most cases, this is because the Nokia Streaming Box 8000 does not provide enough power for external hard drives or the file system is not optimised. The most reliable solution is an exFAT-formatted hard drive with its own power supply or an active USB hub.

i don't know what you mean. but the way you write it, the answer is no anyway. if you meant poe, but we're talking about completely different tensions, also no. by the way, there has been a successor to this model for a long time, and i would also look at the google tv streamer which is also much newer.

The Nokia Streaming Box 8000 with Google Assistant does not offer built-in parental controls or app locker functionality that requires a PIN entry to launch apps. However, the Android 10 operating system running on this box can provide some general security and control features, such as content restriction and the use of Google Family Link to monitor and control usage. however, these features may not be as specific as a PIN-protected app locker.

you also need a tv that can be controlled via hdmi and the right cable. CEC must be switched on on the TV and Nokia Box, it's an option in the settings for each. it works perfectly for me.

To be honest, I would keep my hands off this piece of junk. I was catapulted into the mid-20th century by this thing because it barely has enough memory. Example: If I want to watch the news or a film (I use Zattoo), it takes a whole 8 minutes for the system to boot up. Switching from one channel to the next also seems to be a huge calculation task for the box. However, this doesn't just affect the Zattoo app, but also Netflix etc. It is due to the whole system, which has hardly any RAM and memory. Buy a box with sufficient memory, interfaces, etc. The box is not worth CHF 5.

In my Fritzbox, I have set the LAN connection to the streaming box to Green Mode 100 Mbps to avoid unnecessary power consumption. For receiving a TV signal, 10 Mbits/s is sufficient. In the holiday flat, I have a Fritzbox 6850 LTE with a 10 Mbps download SIM card. The streaming box works perfectly there too.

As far as I am informed, you can also transfer the picture directly from a smartphone to a Samsung TV and the Samsung TV can also be connected directly to the smartphone hotspot, Netflix can also be installed in the Samsung TV and a separate straming box is then superfluous.

Do you mean as a media player (and the NAS as a media server)? If so, this should work fine. For example, Kodi can be installed on it as a media player without any problems (I can't remember if Kodi was already installed by default or if I installed Kodi myself). LG
